Tom Mikolyuk, wearing a gray bandana and sunglasses pushed up on his head, along with a blue and white soccer jersey, stands facing the camera at an outdoor EDM festival called 'Brownies and Lemonade'. He holds a red plastic cup in one hand and, in the other, a small cup of edible brown & black cookie dough with a purple spoon alongside a water bottle. A crowd of festival-goers sits on grass behind him, and large inflatable letters spelling 'BROWNIES & LEMONADE' (partially obscured) rise above the scene.

I’m a Seattle-based mechanical engineer who translates novel technologies into products that make a safer and healthier world. Currently, I work on automated integrated circuit testing equipment and gastrointestinal surgical devices. I hold a BSME degree from the University of Washington, Seattle, where I led projects and teams developing architected materials and assistive technology.

In the real world, I explore and level up in various creative and active skill trees. This year, I've been designing clothing and learning krav maga; last year, I learned wheelthrowing and designed a bunch of stickers; in 2024, I ran my first half-marathon race and overcame ARFID to become a foodie.

I'm broadly interested in public health and art/design education, and always looking for volunteer opportunities. Reach me at tom (at) mikoly.uk or on LinkedIn.
